I've had a bamboo shrimp for the past four months in a fully established tank. A few weeks after I got him I noticed a small crack in his shell on his back, I can see the white flesh underneith but it doesn't seem torn. I searched online but didn't find anything and it disappeared in a few days. While watching him today I found it back again and a little bigger than before. He's not acting any different so I'm very confused on what's going on.

Sounds like it might be ready to molt. The time frame fits ... The first time was several weeks ago and now. If it's still feeding it should fine ... When mine molt, they stop feeding, move to a new spot the dissapear for a day.
