Culturing daphnia

Id be starting with nothing so I would have to cycle the tanks.. I wouldnt use livestock of anykind.. its not nessasary.. Thats what I thought.. exess nitrate and too much light.. just wanted to be sure..

Ground up alfalfa works great as a food. I mean ground though, like put it in a coffee grinder. They scoop it up off the bottom. Just take a 5 gallon bucket, fill it with old tank water, throw in some powdered alfalfa every 2-3 days, and harvest daily.
