I am curing 55 lbs. of Pukani rock in a 32 gal. container. I have a 1500 gph powerhead circulating the water. I added one shrimp. My question is, do I need to test the water along the way ? I will be topping off with RODI water as it evaporates. 1.024 & 78 to 81 degrees, no heater.

My answer in your other thread was t good enough?? ;) you can test ammonia, nitrite and nitrate if your just wanting to see how a cycle goes. Ammonia will spike first, then you will start seeing nitrites go up and then finally nitrates. Like I said, it's not necessary, but since this is your first time, it might be a fun leaning experience to see the stages of the cycle.

LOL I thought I WAS asking you, I think I screwed up and clicked the wrong box or something.
