Curious on what people use gravel or sand

I like the look of my shrimp on black gravel substrates but at the same time I have seen a lot of beautiful tanks on here utilizing sand and it has peaked my interest and I might setup a few sand shrimp/snail tanks.

We have gravel in one sand in another. When we set up the remaining tanks they will all be sand also.

I have sand in my SW tanks, and white gravel in my FW. I do like the look of sand better though.

I prefer sand. It looks nice and it's easy to clean.
