Aquarium Advice Regular
I have a little 10G tank that I decided to use as a place to get plants established that are getting destroyed by loaches. I didn't want to spend much energy on it, so I have placed it outside. It has 50/50 laterite/pool sand, a AC20 filter, and a bunch of snails. I live in San Diego, so it's pretty much always sunny or overcast and rarely cold (today it's 80F).
I don't care about algae. I put used tank water and gross filter media in there for carbon and nitrogen sources. It has been a couple of weeks and not much has happened except some leaf bleaching (too much sun, I guess). The temperature gets high during the day...mid 90's. But there are bubbles all over the plants (pearling or warm water out-gassing?).
Oh, and what kind of plants you might ask...I'm not sure. Here is a picture.
I'm looking for ideas on how to make this work. The snails seem quite happy at least.
