Cyano in sump. Remove?

Cyano is growing like crazy in my sump. Tank is fine but the cyano is taking over the caulapra choking it down to nothing. Had chaeto in sump and it just fizzled down to nothing. Should I try from time to time to remove the cyano? Or let it be?

If it is smothering your macro algae, you will want to remove it.

Cyanos is always bad, remove them.

That's not exactly true. An export of nutrients is still an export if nutrients. Cyano isn't really great to have, but I have some that grows in my fuge section. A similar thought would be if hair algae grew in your fuge. It is a macro algae.
