Dead snail question

Okay, every morning for the past 2 days that I have looked in my 4 gallon tank I've noticed a snail dead to the world. My parameters are perfect, but I am battling a brown algae problem, which I wouldn't have thought would affect the snail. I also believe a emerald crab has died somewhere in my live rock (haven't seen it in a couple of days). Any ideas on this problem? And on how to solve the brown algae issue?

How many snails do you have in the tank? They could be starving in such a small tank.

It was just 3 snails, one margarita and 2 trochus snails. I'm down to a margarita snail now.

Do you have a lot of algae in the tank? It's possible the other two snails just starved.

I got my share of brown algae.

How long have they been in the tank / how did you acclimate them. Also your water params would help
