I am getting a new 120 gallon tank with dual overflows. The tank is 4 ft long 2 ft wide and 2 ft high.

I would like to keep both corals and some fish that are not reef safe. I was thinking i could divide the tank into sections in order to do this.

Any advice or suggestions is appreciated.

Not sure how the tank divider is going to work. You really limit your real estate space by putting a divider in. Won't matter for coals but it will make a difference for the fish. Honestly, it is best to pic what you want t do, reef or FOWLR or FO.

I agree with Lando. If you broke up your tank, you'd have to pick fish that would swim in a 2' tank rather than a 4' tank. That will severely limit your choice of swimming fish as they normally pick a number of gallons that supports the running room of the fish rather than how many gallons it takes to disperse the fish waste.
