Hey everyone, I am interested in doing a background but my problem is that I don't know where to have the heatrer and intake/spraybar located.. does anyone have an idea? Also when they silicon the back of the background... do they silico it straight onto the back of the tank? Thanks

Diy Backgrounds:
http://www.max-discus-dream.de/mddnew/3D-back.htm - Good idea, I like the style

http://www.csd.net/~cgadd/aqua/46g_construct.htm - My primary inspiration for 3d backgrounds

http://www.csd.net/~cgadd/aqua/art_other_netmax_styro.htm - Another good site (for straight marine/fresh backgrounds/design)

http://www.catfishheaven.net/day1.html - The quikrete method I mentioned, This seems like a relatively cost efficient method at making a stunning background

These are some good sites. I have used a couple of them. When I built mine.
As for the heater my ehiem comes with it. I cut 2-2x4 holes on opposite side of the tank for my intake. and placed the background about 2 inches from the back so I could do this.

I hope this helps you out. I am still in the process.
