DIY co2

if u make a diy co2 injector connected to an air stone. Do you still need an air pump or will the co2 bubbles make enough surface movement so you dont need it. or should i keep the air pump as well.
 
You don't want to mix CO2 injection and an air pump. The added turbulence from the air pump will offgas all of your CO2 you're injecting into the atmosphere, and so it won't be usable by your tank.
 
When I used DIY co2, I hate much better luck getting bubbles with a Limewood airstone.
They produced fine micro bubbles which my impellor thanked me for.

Depending on what you use for a source. Compressed Co2 or Yeast reactor. Your going to end up with either a constant stream from CO2 tank... Or intermitent "burps" as the pressure builds up within the yeast container.
