i noticed i have a red looking apitasia, that retreated in the rock, but than i noticed a tube i have never seen before. I had my tank a year, and i inspect it weekly, i was shocked to see a red feather duster?, which is extremely tiny. The tube part of it, was not here a few weeks ago, or maybe i just didnt notice it, but is it possible to grow that fast? I dont think i would miss something as big as it is now(the tube part)

i hear they do not grow bigger, but how will i know if it will stay small or be a bigger one

These little guys are hitchikers on live rock. They kinda seem to pop up but have probably been growing slowly all along. At least that's been my experience. Unfortunately all my volunteer tube worm, feather dusters have disappeared thanks to a pair of Coral Banded Shrimp I have. BTW just a word of warning on your Mandarin. They only do well for longevity in a well established tank...

What is this ?? looking at it in pict looks like a large aiptasia
if it is it needs to be killed off before it spreads
kind of hard to tell hidden behind the rock
