Do snails carry parasites?

I have tons of tiny cone shape snails plagueing my aquarium. Can they carry parasites that affect fish?

I never had any problems with mystery snails.. im guessing thats what you have.

Snails can and do carry parasites, but as far as I am aware, none of the parasites that they typically carry have any detrimental affect on fish.

Some parasites, including some intestinal worms, use snails as an intermediate host-they live in snail at one point in their life cycle and in fish at another.
