Just starting up my first 20 gallon and have some driftwood I wood like to add from an old reptile tank I had. It has not been used in a setup for about 8 years. I have already started soaking it but was unsure if because it was in a reptile setup if it could be harmful. Any advice would be appreciated.

I would think boiling it should take care of it. personally i would just go for it. also like to add in that salmonella is easy to kill and most people over react to most salmonella outbreaks.

If you do plan on using it.... IMO you shouldn't, I would definitely boil the **** out of it. Reptile tanks carry all kinds if diseases.
