Duncan coral issue

Hey guys

Bought a Duncan coral 4 days ago it looked beautiful at the shop and has looked close to opening in my tank for several days now

Any advice would be good .

My parameters are

Ammonia. 0
Ph 8.4
Nitrite 0
Salinity 1.025
Nitrate 0
Calcium 480
Kh. 160
Phosphate 0.02

I wish I had a definite answer for you. sometimes mine will close up when it seems it's popping more heads but thats all I got. Sorry...
 
I thought the same thing, but it's on the bottom where I keep mine but as for flow, could be another option. Maybe moving it might help as well.
 
What I normally do if a coral don't open is move it and wait a few days if still not open keep nothing it till u find a spot it likes. That is if all parameters are right.
 
My duncan did stay closed for over a week but I think it was due to it popping 5 new heads, maybe it needs that extra energy for reproduction. But thats only what I think, hasnt been proven as why they didnt open. :)

My Duncan stayed open when poppin new heads, etc. Mine did stay closed when there was to much flow hitting them. It was even more flow hitting it at the lfs, then in my tank. Kinda weird, lol. After moveing it were there was some water movement but not alot it opened right up. Such a beautiful coral.
