I feed blanched zucchini, romaine lettuce, cooked peas. Balancing is basically boiling for a short time and then using an ice bath to stop the cooking process. The veggies sink and they're softer than they are raw. I blanch my veggies and then freeze them. Just tried romaine last night, my pleco and the rainbow shark seemed to love it. I used a seaweed clip to keep it in place. Other options are a rubber band to an ornament. All my zucchini pieces have sunk so far, but I'd take it out after 24 hours, 48 tops to keep it from fouling the tank.
