I have a 10 gallon tank, I switched my filter from a HOB filter, when I switched filters I lost an ember tetra and a nerite snail so I assume the tank went through a mini cycle. I wish I would of returned the filter because the one I bought is way to large, it’s meant for a 30 gallon and takes away from my natural planted tank look. So I bought a smaller one meant for a 10-20 gallon. I have it sitting next to the old filter now, I plan to let it sit there for a week, then I’ll switch and run the new filter with the old filter in the tank for a week and then I’ll take it out. Will that transfer the bacteria to prevent another cycle

Huh? You don’t need a picture, I’m asking how long I need to keep the filters together to transfer the bacteria from old filter to new sponge filter?

I was asking for a picture to know what style of filters you were actually talking about
You mention you *had* a HOB but thats all not what you have NOW. You also don't mention what your water results are so before saying anything I'd like to know the WHOLE story not just peices
