Should I get a Penguin Bio-Wheel 350 or a Hagen Aquaclear 110 for my 29 gallon tank that I'm getting in the near 2 weeks? Which one would be better for the tank do you think?
I've always went with Bio-Wheel.. I've tried skilters and what not for tanks in the past, but using my Bio right now (which will do your Mechanical, Bio and Chem) filtrating plus using a seperate skimmer on the side. That would be my choice filter
Biowheels do have a tendecy to be somewhat of a NO3 factory. Most Salties remove the biowheels for use. If you have plenty of biological filtration (1.5-2lbs of LR/gal and an active LS bed) you should be okay to keep the biowheels in place.
