I'm going to be upgrading to a 185g tank and need to know what's the best, more efficient filtration to use on a tank this size. I'm keeping SA cichlids and some catfish. Right now I have a 55g tank with two Penguin 350 filters which is obviously not going to be sufficient enough. Also what's the best way to heat the tank? Advice is greatly need/appreciated

I would definitely go canister. I have a XP4 and XP3 on mine. Just select a canister filter that meets your tank needs. You may need to get more than one unless you go with Fluval FX5 which will probably take care of all your needs (altho I haven't used this filter). Another idea is to use sump too.
