Rodi is a system not a conditioner if that's what you're thinking of.

$170 BUCKS, seriously, JESUS CHRIST!
Can I just add de chlorinated water to the tank

Like I said you will get some seriously nasty algae blooms with rodi. For a fowlr tap may be ok for a while depending on your water source but for a reef rodi is mandatory IMO.

Ok, so RODI and "the system" are different things?
Oh wait, is RODI the water you buy?
And I live in El Paso tx, one of three cities in the U.S to have desalinization plants, there is an ocean under our city, our water comes from there, does it make a difference?

You'd have to test the tds (total dissolved solids) to know. Rodi is a system for purifying water. Rodi stands for reverse osmosis deionized water

Ultimately it saves you money and time. You don't need it and can buy water but it does add up over time.

Oh ok, makes sense now
Ok, so to decide this, or how to start thinking about it, how do water changes go?

I mix sw overnight. Retest the salinity the next day and then siphon out 5 gallons and put 5 gallons of fresh saltwater back into the tank.
