My husband went into the LFS and decided to buy a fish for his tank. They told him it was a cross' damsel. He's had it now for a week or so and now and after looking it more closely I am questioning it. I looked up a cross' damselfish and it doesn't really resemble it too much.

If anyone could shed some light on this I would appreciate it.

Thanks.

That is what I thought too, but not a cross' (red honey) damsel. I want to say that it is an adult or close to it as he is about 3" already.

I just can't find any pictures that look like him.

That's for sure a damsel my damsel looks exactly like it it is a damsel for sure they loose colors as they mature

Aside from being a little on the pale side, it looks a reasonable match with an adult cross damsel (Neoglyphidodon crossi). It's difficult though with these drab damsels. One thing to check though: Is it orange on the upper part of the inside of the pectoral-fin base? If so, I definitely say N. crossi.
