How are you determining you tank is on its last days of cycling? Its perfectly fine to continue a fishless cycle as a fish-in but you will need to do a large water change first to zero any ammonia and/or nitrite and drop your nitrates to 20ppm or lower. Make sure you use temperature-matched & properly conditioned water. You will then need to test your water parameters daily and do water changes anytime your ammonia and/or nitrites hit .25ppm (or higher). Heres a link to fish-in cycling:
