Fish staying away from filter

I have an Aquaclear 110 filter for my 100gal tank.

My goldfish and koi stay away from the filter, hanging out at the other side of the aquarium. They swim to that side but will not stay there. This has also happened to my previous goldfish and cichlids.

I reduced the flow to the minimum, but they still refuse to go to that side.

Any suggestions?

hmmm idk? I just got a 110 and my rainbows don't seem to care, the current is a little stronger so they don't stay in it but they are on the side of the tank all the time. It's also a pretty quiet filter.

I know someone on here stuck a breeder box under his.

Other wise you could get 2 AC 70's or like a penguin 350 or 400 with 2 waterfalls.

You could give a bottle baffle a shot.
