Fish swimming sideways

Just got a fish from the pet store...a kahuli loach...put it in my 5 gallon tank with my 2 plates and a gourami.within a couple hours one platy started swimming sideways and the other is kinda acting weird...what's going on

Have you checked your water? What are the ammonia, nitrite, nitrate levels? Did you add the tank water from the pet store to your tank?

Also your tank is way overstocked. The Platys need a bigger tank, so do the Gouramis, and so do the Kuhlis (and they like to be in groups). None of those fish are really suitable for a 5 gal. So that could be the major issue.

5 gal tanks are best for a betta, some shrimp or a school nano fish (like ember tetra).

All the levels are fine...and my fish were doing great until this loach came in..literally like. Couple hours after he came in this all started
