Fluval 405

Hello all! This is my first time setting up a large aquarium. I acquired a 70 gallon tank and equipment last year. I just washed out the tank using vinegar and rinsed out 3 times with garden hose.

My question is the Fluval 405 that I have. Water was left in the canister for 10 months along with filters. I dumped out the water and rinsed out the filter. Should I rinse out the filters and such that where in the filter or find new ones? Also I dumped out some cylinder stones with holes. What are these called?

I would appreciate any feeback as to what to I should replace/keep for the filter.

I'd replace the filters. Who knows what kind of bacteria has formed in stagnant water for 10 months. I'd also scrub the inside of the canister with vinegar and rinse it out.
