They are really big and really powerful. I have one on my 125g it does a great job. It replaced 2 marineland H.O.B filters (lol).
 
It's overkill definitely, as long as you can direct the flow in a way that your fish can swim properly then it's no problem.

But let me tell you that thing is strong!

On a side note I think convict here had one in his 75g African tank.
 
Ok great the guy I bought tank from wants to sell me one and 45 pounds of fugi live rock for $200. From what I can tell looks like a really good deal.
 
I agree. Also if you plan on keeping corals depending on how you set it up, many will appreciate the flow.

Or if you can have someone buy it at a good price you can keep the rock or vice versa
 
Guy that has it connected it to a piece of pvc that runs length of tank and had holes drilled in it every two inches or so.
