How often do you replace the fluval peat in your filter? I have an fx5. I used the whole box and put it in the middle. I just read that it leaches tannins. I thought it only makes your water softer and lowers your ph and that's it. Did I put too much peat? The filter is already running and I can remove some or all of the peat (if i have to) tomorrow afternoon. Thanks.

Tannins don't harm anything. What is your issue with it exactly?

The amount that I put in the filter might lower the ph drastically. I don't like brown water. I also would like to know how often do you replace it.
