Hi

im new to the marine scene and have finally came to a decision on going the FO route. i cant get my hands on live rock unless i go into the local reefs and collect sum on the bottom. but i was wondering will my fish be happy still with a FO setup and will i be able to have shrimp, snails, etc with this type of setup? im planning on just laying baserock in nice formations.

Thank you.

Well I am a newbie and i say if that is the only way and you wont harm the ocean then i dont see a problem with it. I actually think the fresher the better.

As i said i am a newbie but i dont see a problem with that.

The rock you put in there will become "live" after time. Beneficial bacteria will grow on it, that will help your tank.
