FO w LR and more?

Oh so I have my 30g Tall and I have 35pounds of LR, I planed on it being a FO tank but I like the look of some of the reef stuff. I am not looking at buying anything living for the reef anytime soon, I am just wondering about lighting..


I was looking at building a custom hood with 250w MH in it.

SO that looks like 8.3 wpg, is this good bad or what?

What are the dimensions on the tank. You can probably get by using a 150w MH depending on the depth. Just remember that heat might/will play a significant role on your tank. 30g will heat up pretty quick.

Ok..so the depth is 24" then. Use the 250w for better growth and lighting. Skip the 150w MH. I didn't realize it was this tall before.

I'm not sure. I would check with the manufacturer on that one. Some ballast support it, while others may not.
