Hi there! Not sure if I'm posting in the right way... I have read that People will mail other People free "cuttings." Are cuttings just trimming from the plant. Can a new water plant grow from this? Where would someone reach out to find those free helper friends? I am looking for Java Moss and Fern, and another anubius... i have low light conditions, and will try any new plant that is safe and will grow or survive ok... Is there anyone out there that can dumb it down for me??

A lot of folks will offer free or nearly free trimmings. Your best bet is to check the classifieds section here. For stem plants, mosses, and some others, new plants will grow from trimmings. Other plants require rhizomes to be split, or to have some root structure with the trimming to grow into a new plant...

Sounds like you have some good picks for low light requirements.
