Hello!

I bought a piece of pre soaked driftwood at Petco (I know - that should explain it right there, but I really liked it). In the last two days, it has grown some sort of brown/green algae. (See pics).

This is a 10 gallon cold water tank with a Penguin 100, parameters are all within normal range (0, 0, 20, 7.4). I am using an API drop test kit.

How do I get rid of it naturally? Boil the wood? Scrape it off?

Thank you!

Well, I can't really tell what it is so I would suggest trying to scrape it off. If it comes back after a few days, take another pic and let us have a look. It could just be mulm from the petco tanks.

Thank you for the advice. The algae is disappearing on its own :)
