What i usually do with fry is 1 for females 2 for males

Ah very smart. My LFS does 1.50 per guppy or 2.45 for a pair and it tends to sell around twice as many guppies as petco and stuff, they sell about 50 every few days or so. Maybe ill do 1 for female 2 for males or 2.80 for a pair and 4.70 for a 1 female 2 male pair so maybe that'll get pple to buy more in pairs.

Will that fertilizer affect my fish fry in any negative way?

I've seen those advertised at pet stores as bumblebee platies because of the black & yellow coloring.

That's probably why momma threw out some mostly yellows.

Possibly, but I've had a quick google, I think they are yellow or sunburst wag platies. Gorgeous!

So I broke my record on surviving fry. Saved 7 this morning. Looking to save more when I get home from work. The buggers burry themselves pretty deep into the gravel.

Yellow mama is birthing as we speak. Hopefully a few more yellow wag platies! Here is her first born:

Only got one juvenile red plate I rescued from its eaten brothers, and its about to die from this huge disease that apparently nobody can determine which is killing off everything in my tank. :(

So frustrated

Congratulations on the new fry! There are some good looking dry out there! Sorry to hear about all the losses. It's tough loosing them.

I'm trying to breed red platys! My male will not get with my female though. The female chases him non stop and he just ignores her! Should I get another male and a few more females?

A few more pics from last nights babies
