I'm thinking of adding a trio of platties in my 29 gallon. I have black skirts, Bolivian Rams, ghost shrimp and black kuhli loaches. My question is: would any/all of these help to keep my platties in check by eating SOME of the fry? I am ok with the whole survival of the fittest thing. Yes, I have a lot of plants and numerous hiding spots, so some should survive. No, I don't have a separate tank that I would be able to grow the fry out in. thanks.

Yes a few should survive while a lot are eaten
I wouldn't expect a survivor ratio of more than 1:100 fry or so
