German Blue Ram digging

I woke up today to find a few holes dug by my GBRs. The biggest one that they made is next to one of my Amazon swords and they have exposed one of the root tabs at the bottom. Is it okay to leave it like that if they breed in the ditch? Or should I disturb it and push the root tab in further? They haven't yet laid eggs but the female is looking pretty ready to go, and I'm gonna feed them some love black worms today so maybe tonight they will lay eggs.

I would just push the root tab down before they start doing the dirty.
