Glass Knife Fish

I have a new Glass Knife fish. I got him a week ago. He is in a 60 gal tank with plenty of hiding places including rocks, a rock cave, and plenty of plants. He seems to be very happy. He is about 6-8 inches now. I have read that males can get 17.5 and females can get up to 8. I was wondering if anyone knew how fast they grow and how soon I can tell if this is a male or female?

Sexing these types of fish isnt very easy as they are pretty uncommon. I used to be owner of a clown knife fish so I can give you insight on my experience. Their growth rate isn't extroadinary, say half an inch to 0,75inch per month(in my case). As for the sexing, I feel you might have to wait until he grows out and matures a bit.
