Goldfish Fading

Hello! I have an orange & white Comet that is now solid orange except for the tail & lower fins and an solid orange Comet that is slowly turning white.Why is this happening?30 gal.,fluorescent full spectrum on about 8-10 hours daily.I've had one 1yr the other 2yrs.both about 5 inches now.Water conditions-High alk.-amn & nitri good-sometimes nitrate gets to high but is good for now.varied diet. Im not sure about commons as I don't have much experience of them but my calico fantail has been chaning colours all the time as she has grown older they can change colour with age I know that for sure. Like some black moors can turn white or completely gold as they age and mature. So your common may just be going through natural changes in colour depends on his heritage if you like.

It is just genetics. Goldfish can go through many colour changes during their life
