went to the fair last night and i was looking at the games they had there and 3 of them had a tank with goldfish in them the goldfish looked like they werent even swimming they looked sad if i had another tank i would try to get 3 or 4 of them but i dont

Don't feel too horrible. The goldfish are probably suffering so much damage that they will die soon enough. The last thing you want to do is give money to the people running the game. They were probably comets anyway and would need a 75+ gallon tank when fully grown.

yes, never feel bad, you can't help every fish. Besides, goldfish, personally i like them, but they are very high maintenence, they are hardy for sure, but they just make too much waste. Don't feel bad.
