Gourami fin rot

Two of my dwarf gourami shave fin rot, I've been doing water changes and melafix. Nothing seems to get better and none of the other are sick. But everybody is happy and nobody is inactive. Any suggestions to help them heal?

Hi, have you checked the water chemistry (including ph) and I assume the tiger barbs are not nipping fins or anything?

Yes I check my water weekly. I've even been treating with medicine. No change but it's not getting worse either. And no the barbs are actually scared of the gouramis.

Sounds worse than the melafix can handle. Do you have any antibiotics?

No I don't...

That's what I would try next - a fin rot medication. Two at once suggests an infection but extra water changes and keeping tank temp stable will help.
