i have a pair of gouramis ready to lay eggs. i am told to put the tank up to 85 to help them lay eggs. will this cause trouble for the rest of the tank. i have mollies, black tetra's, pleco, 2 angel fish, and some assorted platy's.
thanks rob

Gouramis are bubble nest builders. Unless you can supply a tank just for breeding, it's kind of pointless to try and induce this in a community tank.

The male will show he's ready to spawn by blowing bubbles and making a nest at the surface. This requires a floating plant of something to act as an anchor for the nest, and virtually no surface agitation.
