Tell me if this makes sense or if I am of base.

the return from my sump is on the top of the tank opposite my overflow box.

I have algae growing on the glass from the bottom of the tank up. However it never makes it up further than just half the tank. I am speculating that I just don't have enough vertical flow in the water column.

I have a maxi-jet 400 opposite the return as well pointed up towards the middle of the tank.

It is a 90 gallon and I change just over a third of the water, if I let it go now than a week before changes I add fresh water to the sump.

does it sound plausible that I may just not have enough flow?

Are you asking about algae being caused by poor water flow? The answer is no. You may have the light turned on too much or your lights could be too strong.

Yes that's what I was asking.

I'll try shortening the timer on the lights to give them less day time.

Thank you
