Aquarium Advice Regular
Hey all,
My tank has been up since just after new years. It's a 29g standard aquarium, with 60-70lbs of live rock and maybe 5lbs of live sand. I have two clownfish, a conch, and some snails in it. My water quality is excellent, which I have to give credit to the new protein skimmer. That thing makes a bigger difference than any other single piece of equipment I have ever bought for my tank. I don't know why I waited 'til my 3rd attempt to buy one.
Anyway, over the past week I have been eying some green spots that have shown up in 2 or 3 places and as grown considerably since I first spotted them. Now, About 2 weeks ago I added the little (one to four inch) pieces of live rock I saw in my LFS's LR tank. The only reason I bought them is because they were covered in an amazing shell of green coralline (which i prefer to the purple/red). My question is, do you think it's possible that my tank is currently in just the right position for the coralline to spread like wildfire? I mean, I just got up and took the attached pictures and noticed it it just starting to grow everywhere.
Now the reason I suspect that it could be coralline is because when it started putting little dots on the glass, they where very strong. Not like regular crappy algae that just wipes off with one pass of the mag-float. I mean, I really have to work at this stuff to get it off, and some of it I have to get in there with my nail and scratch at it. So my question is, what do you all think it could be? Coralline or other?
These pictures were shot with a 4 mp camera and they are not exactly what I expected, I don't know, the camera just has a hard time focusing on things in the tank. So I took two with the lights off and one with the lights on. Let me know what you think and thanks!
Lights off:
