Green sans

Please someone help, my tank sand goes green!!! I do a water change once a week and remove all the green that is on the sand, I then move the sand around but withing a couple of days the sand starts to go green
Any help would be appreciated

Probably blue green algae. How long are your lights on daily

Mine are left on for 9 hours a day

Cut back to 8, put a break in the middle (easy to do with an outlet timer) and vacuum out as much as possible. If it persists, blue green (if you identify that as what it is) can be killed with bacterial medication.

Ok thank you, I've set it from 8-12 then from then from 5-9, hopefully that will work
