Not sure to put this in invert or this section. Would 1 male hippy and 2 male endlers be to much for dwarf shrimp to breed and not hide all day? The tank is 8 gallons and it's a cube. Filter is canister rated up to 20 gallons.

From personal experience you can keep shrimp with small fish if the shrimp have enough places to retreat to, not necessarily hide, moss is probably about the best solution - lots of it.
The shrimp colony needs to be well established as the fish will pick off some of the baby shrimps but will not bother the adults too much. Fish should be no bigger than a guppy or tetra, I think.
Adding shrimp to a fish tank is just an expensive meal. Introducing fish to a well established and well planted shrimp colony will just keep your shrimp numbers under control.
