I've seen many other people with this problem and the answers are usually that they lose color due to stress.
However, I've had mine for about 2 and a half year and they have been rather colorless majority of the time.
I have 64L (16,9 gallons) tank with 3 males, 6 females and one Platy. The females got in the tank about 3 months ago.
All of the fishes have very vague colorization, some with almost clear fins.
There are also two types of "pest" snails.
I measured the ph level, nitrate and all of that stuff and it came out great.
Temp is 25 C.
I do 30-60% water change every week and I clean the gravel every two weeks.
There are plenty of hiding places, I put a little bit of salt in the tank once a month.
Their fins shape is fine, not torn or nibbled in.
I feed them twice a day and on every third day they get fed bloodworms.
what can this be? I really want their color to pop out.
