Hagen Elite Submersible Heater 100w

Does anybody know if the temperature of this heater can be adjusted and if so, how?

It looks like it can and has temperature display on the front (presumably the temperature it is set at) but the heater was given to me and I do not have a box. The top turns slightly but does not make a difference to the reading on the front.

I have looked for instructions online but have not been successful!

Any help much appreciated

I have a couple of them and yes the knob on top is to adjust the temp. Don't count on the temp on the scale to give the exact temp. Verify with a thermometer.

When you twist the knob surely the figure on the front should change though?

I have a thermometer in anyway to monitor temp

Also, which the thermometer is at a steady temperature - sometimes the water actually feels warm and sometimes it feels colder

Is this usual?

The heater comes on and off (presumably goes off when the temp is stable and comes back on when it drops?)

Yes that's normal. When my heater turns on, a red light is lit. When its at 80 a green light comes on. Mine is turning on and off every minute or so.
