Fellow African cichlid keepers in the uk, are you having issues with water temperature at the moment?.
My water is 28.5 so I am icing it and keeping lights off, any other tips would be cool.

28.5C isn't a huge cause for concern. Increase surface agitation to promote more oxygen exchange. Warmer water holds less oxygen. If it reaches over 30C then I would take steps to lower it by removing lids/hoods, turning off the light or aiming a fan over the surface of the water. Adding ice, like youre doing, works well but be careful not to lower the temp too quickly.

Ok, thank you I will stick my filter outlets higher tonight and put an air stone in to creat surface movement.
