Hello All,

I went on vacation recently (one week.) Upon returning I found my Bursa Trigger lying on the bottom of the tank. There are no outward signs of disease, he looks completely healthy.

I took some samples and found the PH to be pretty low (7.7) so I raised it over the past couple days (8.1). I also did a fairly sizable water change. Water quality is now very good.

He hasn't eaten for three days. He just lays around on the bottom of the tank. I can't find any information on the signs and symptoms of a fish that has been subjected to low PH levels.

Can someone advise me as to what I should do to help this guy? I've had him almost a year, he is almost 5 inches long his name is "Turkey the Trigger!" and he could use your help. :D

Thanks in advance.

The trouble is he isn't eating. He hasn't eaten anything for three days now. Anything else I could do?

Soaking his food in garlic may intice him to start eating again. It worked for my blue tang when she wouldn't eat. Just a thought. Hope hes ok!

he is still undergoing shock, I would try to soak my food with garlic and give that a try.
Undergoing shock from what? Did I miss something somewhere?

Were the other parameters ok...besides the ph? How slowly did you bring the ph back up?

When I noticed he was acting funny, all the parameters checked out ok except for the low PH level.

I brought it back up over two days.

When I got home today Turkey the Trigger was dead.

Real dissapointment. He had such personality. I had him almost a year.

Thanks for the suggestions.
