I have a pleco that I have added to my tank but I was told he was a common but he doesn't look like the other common pleco in my tank. He has red patchy spots on his sides and he has red tipped fins. Can anybody please help identify or give me a general idea of what he might be?

Looks like a common pleco to me. Your light gives him a different color ton so that may throw you off a bit

They look the same except one is more dark then the other

But it has red on the tip of his fins. Could it be a calico?

No it's definitely a common. I've seen pretty commons with the red on their fins
