Hello All,

I got two Pictus for my 55g yesterday and today one of them is freaking out. Swimming up and down in a corner of the tank, so obviously very stressed. It’s the larger of the two. I have lots of plants and hiding places for the fish. And I have mollies and skirt tetras in the rest of the tank. Anyone know common issues that might be bothering the pictus? Thanks!

Your pictus cat is probably okay. Pictus do better in groups, you only have two.. Your fish is probably chasing his own reflection in the glass. A lot of varieties of aquarium fish exhibit the same behavior. Pictus are very active, energetic fish as you probably noticed in your LFS sales tank. Maybe the addition of one more pictus cat will moderate your catfish annoying behavior.
If possible you can try adjusting your lighting as to lessen the pictus's reflection on the glass. Pictus cats are durable fish. Likely no worries.
