Hi! I’ve been doing 30% water changes every other day for my 7.5gal tank with 1 guppy and 7 fry (in a hanging breeding box). I tested the water yesterday and it wasn’t great so i did a water change and gravel vac. Levels of all three , ammonia nitrite and nitrate, were high. But today i checked again and they’re so so high!! I’m so worried about the fish. I’m going to do a 30% water change and add prime and stability, but I need help understanding why this happened and how to prevent it!!IMG_1870.jpg

So how did you cycle your filter for your tank? That takes about 3-8 weeks to complete. When was the tank started and when was the cycle complete?

Before you put the fish in did you cycle the tank? If you didn't that's a really important step as the bacteria will eat the ammonia and nitrites. The water changes will remove the nitrates.

I don't think i've seen high ammonia, nitrites, AND nitrates.
Logically, once you have nitrates, the ammonia and nitrites should be 0...

Are you sure you're following the test instructions properly?
