Does anyone know what's wrong with my fish? I just received this fish last night but he's not looking to great

I thought it might be dropsy but im not so sure

The lump looks like a viral growth such as carp pox or lymphocystis. There is no treatment other than lots of healthy water and nutritious diet. The fish should be isolated right now. His scales, however, are very concerning and it appears that he is displaying signs of dropsy. Did you pick him up from a store or was he shipped via mail?

He actually belonged to my supervisors daughter, he had been in a Tiny little tank for 8 yrs! A tank that small im now using it as a snail tank!
